I read my first manga before I read my first novel, I even remember what I read - Candy. Most of my childhood memories involve me going through my aunt's shelf of mangas with their yellowed pages and art that was very different than the style we see now. But that was my childhood before I discovered Percy Jackson. So, it's safe to say mangas hold a very special place in my heart and I still read them from time to time. When webtoons became popular a while back I couldn't get used to its scrolling format, the art, and as a result, I couldn't seem to ever finish reading one.

Recently, I've started getting into them once a friend recommended one which I'm going to dedicate this blog to. Yumi's Cells - a masterpiece, in my humble, unprofessional opinion.

Simply put, it's genius. and even more so if you're as deep as I am into Korean entertainment. The story follows a girl named Yumi and the cells inside her brain. Everyone has cells in their brain that represents a quality of themselves and each of the cells play an important part in how you act on the outside. The story entails Yumi's personal life, from her interactions with her colleagues, her relationship, her breakup, her moving on from her relationship and finding someone new.

The author comes up with genius explanations for things like why you can't move on after your breakup (your love cell is in a coma and it doesn't matter if your other cells have chained up a white blood cell to repair her because that's not its job) and provides funny visualisations of your brain in certain situations like when you're drunk.

The world building is excellent and very believable, the story is amazing and the art is really cute. There are currently 350 chapters out (seems long but I promise each chapter isn't too long) and the author just came back from hiatus so more cell adventures coming up soon!

Final verdict: I will readily recommend this to anyone regardless of their interests because it's just that good.
